The coaching planners started ten years ago when a handful of coaches collaborated with Mark1 to customize planners for each sport. We had become aware of planners used in business but found they didn't meet our needs in education and coaching. 
So we decided to build our own; our first venture into the unknown realm of product development, marketing, opportunity and rejection.
Since many of us coached basketball, we decided to build a basketball planner. Being teacher/coaches, we were unaware of the business world completely. We also found we weren't fast learners either. The president of Mark1, Larry McGuire, proved to be an excellent "head coach" in business and steadied the ship as we set sail.
Our first planner, developed real interest in the coaching
ranks and leaders in many more sports became interested. We ended up with 100's of recommendations from 100's of coaches. When the smoke had cleared, we had produced
several sports related systems as well as student and teacher planners.
In 2000, we partnered with two of the highest decorated coaches in Texas to publish a character training program
called Changing Lives. This is a well developed curriculum that provides the materials you need to do just that. Changing Lives offers a proven series of story-based lessons devoted to teaching improved attitude,
responsibility, self-image, character, leadership and goals to young people.
Mark1, publisher and provider of Changing Lives, is dedicated to helping people. It offers support and added
resources to enhance the Changing Lives materials. "Changing Lives News" has been developed to support you in your efforts to make a difference in the lives of young people.
